Parents’ Association

The St. Raphaela’s Parents’ Association is the means through which Parents/Guardians in St. Raphaela’s work together in conjunction with the school to achieve the best possible experience for all of those in St. Raphaela’s.

The PA represents all children from Junior Infants to 6th class. Two representatives are sought per class at the time of the AGM, which is held each during the first term.

The role of Class Representative is for two years at which time the parents actively seek out a replacement. The Parent Association Committee meets every month and these meetings are attended by held monthly and are attended by one representative from each class, the Principal, a Teacher’s representative and a representative from the Board of Management.

The Parents’ Association is involved in many initiatives that bring significant educational development, joy and community building to the school.

Fundraising events such as Valentines Bingo, MegaMix, The Christmas Cake and Craft Sale are all highlights in the school year. Funds raised from these events have been used to purchase iPads, whiteboards, sports equipment and to support literacy and numeracy development within the school.

The PA organise a host of free community building events and experiences such as The Photo Scavenger Hunt, Communion and Graduation Celebrations, Annual Back to School Party, Santa’s Visit, Safety Week, New Parents Welcome event, Halloween Disco , Uniform Swop Shop, Parent Talks all of which combine to make St Raphaela’s a welcoming and fun place to be.

The Parents’ Association encourages the whole parent body to get involved in giving back to the school community and over the last few years they have worked with Ms. Corry and the school to transform the Montessori, Badminton Hall and school gardens!
