We are delighted to announce that St. Raphaela’s Primary School 6th Class Student Manasvini Rudraki has made it all the way through to the Grand Final of the Intel Mini Scientist Competition.

Manasvini’s is one of the 18 projects which was selected at the recent Leinster Regional Finals to go forward to the National Grand Final which will take place in the New Year.

The 2022 Intel Mini Scientist competition saw almost 7,000 students from 97 schools in 21 counties across Ireland taking part.

Manasvini’s winning project, entitled SLABS, first won the Intel Mini Scientist Competition in our school in November 2022. This was the first round of the competition. It involved 74 students from 4th, 5th and 6th class who entered the St. Raphaela’s in-school competition. The exhibition involved both teams and individuals presenting their ideas to every class level from Junior Infants to 6th class. It was visited by three Intel employees who judged all entries, together with our teachers Ms. Gannon and Ms. O’Crowley. They selected the winning project from St. Raphaela’s to go forward to a regional final.

The second round, held on December 13th 2022 was the Intel Mini Scientist Regional Final for the Leinster area. This was hosted at the TU Dublin Blanchardstown campus. The Regional Final brought together over 200 students from 69 different schools in Cavan, Donegal, Dublin, Kilkenny, Kildare, Laois, Leitrim, Louth, Mayo, Meath, Monaghan, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford and Wicklow. From this round, 18 projects were selected at the event to go forward to the National Grand Final which will take place in the New Year.

We are so proud of all our future STEM leaders in St.Raphaela’s Primary School and wish Manasvini the best of luck in the final.
